MORE ABOUT OUR PRICING AND SERVICES
What's so special about Deck Yourself?
Other companies make you order large quantities to qualify for low pricing. That's because the setup process for a sign or t-shirt can be complicated. They want you to make it worth their while before agreeing to do business.
Many companies offering similar services to ours operate a lot like many Airlines do today. Lots of custom apparel and sign shops have become so obsessed with a dollar that they stopped caring about the sales process a long time ago. They stymie customers with complex fee structures, and hammered them on every want and need. Some other shops routinely disregard your deadlines which can compromise your original idea.
In order for us to stand out, we have to be different from both the cookie-cutter factories and the expensive part-time hobbyists. That's why Deck Yourself offers things any deserving customer would expect like written quotes, basic pricing structures, and speedy deliveries. Our mission is to preserve your promotional vision while being respectful to the budget.
At Deck Yourself we know you have lots of different companies to choose from so we want to be worth your while whether you order 5 or 500 pieces, we have value options to suit any idea or request. You can be assured you are being quoted the lowest possible price according to your specifications.
Minimum Orders:
Some companies would rather not do business with you unless you order a minimum amount of items. They might demand you order anywhere from 25 to 100 pieces to make it worth their while. There's no such thing as a minimum or maximum order at Deck Yourself. Sure, there are pricing advantages to placing a larger order. But we don't demand it from the customer. At Deck Yourself we sell everything from one-offs to a thousand or more pieces.
Vinyl Graphic Applications:
Typically customers hire us to apply vinyl grapics to t-shirts, promotional banners and small signs. We can also create vinyl graphics for your storefront window or company vehicle that are so easy to apply that any one can do it if they follow a few of our simple instructions. We can also apply vinyl graphics to almost anything you can imagine. We've decorated camping chairs, water bottles and even umbrellas. Sometimes a company doesn't grow in services until a customer asks them to. We love it when that happens. We've decorated lots of crazy things with vinyl graphics and you can too. To get your vinyl graphics just send us an email with your logo, artwork, or idea.
Our vinyl graphics can be applied to anything from backpacks to pickup trucks, or any type of textile, hard surfaces, or promotional items. Most vinyl graphics are so easy to apply that any halway-handy person can save money and install the graphics themselves by following our simple instructions.
Setup Fees:
Other companies charge expensive per-color setup fees every time you order. It's because they may not have the capacity to permanently store your design. At Deck Yourself we can digitally store thousands of designs at a time, more than enough to guarantee your design for life. If the client has their artwork prepared in vector format there is not much setup involved at all on our end.
That's why there is no setup fee when a client is able to submit their artwork in proper vector format. If the artwork needs to be converted to the right format by our designers our fee is a ONE-TIME $25 setup charge that covers the life of your logo or design. There is never a setup fee on reorders of the same design. Also, there is never a setup fee on orders over 50 pieces. All orders under 50 pieces may be subject to an additional $25 handling fee. The more you use Deck Yourself the more money you'll save.
There may be additional design fees if you require the services of a graphic designer. This happens when you need us to draw your logo or design concept from scratch.
Deck Yourself compatible Vector file formats include .EPS and the files created and manipulated by professional drawing software products such as Arts & Letters Express®, Adobe Illustrator®, and Corel Draw.
PREFERRED formats (Vector Files):
The main advantage of vector images is that they are not resolution-dependent and can be resized with no loss of image quality. Unlike pixel-based raster images, vector graphics are based on mathematical formulas that define geometric shapes such as curves, lines, circles, rectangles, and polygons. Vector graphics are also easily edited — changing fills, line weights, text, etc. is relatively simple.
Most illustration programs will allow you to export or "save as" a generic EPS format that can be read and interpreted by other illustration software. If you're using a program other than CorelDraw, or Illustrator, please save your vector art in EPS format prior to submitting it to us. We can also import most vector files saved in PDF documents.
Accepted formats (Raster Files):
Raster files (.tif, .bmp., .jpg, .gif, .psd, .pcx, etc.) are good for very complex artwork and photographs, but compared to vector graphics, raster graphics are less economical, slower to display and print, less versatile and more difficult to work with. The main disadvantage is that they are not scaleable. When printing a large image from a small image file, you lose resolution and the resulting image will not be particularly sharp. Raster images are made up of a series of small squares known as pixels. The number of pixels in a raster image is fixed. If you increase the size of your image, the squares just get bigger, making the image appear broken-up or jagged. The end result is either a very pixellated image, or an art charge for us to clean up your image or convert it to vectors. Whenever possible, it's best to start with an image as close as possible in size to the actual output. Resolution in raster graphics is measured in dpi, or "dots per inch". The higher the dpi, the better the resolution. 150 to 300 dpi at finished size is good resolution. Logos and graphics from internet web pages are always low resolution (around 72 dpi) and cannot be enlarged for sign use
If you are not sure about your files we will evaluate their conversion possibilities for free, email us and ask.
